I'll start out with the Gameplay. This gaem is packed with sweet new gameplay features. First the game modes. You got the classic arcade mode that you have seen in all the other MK games. In this mode, you just battle different oppenents in a random order that get harder as you progress. Next is the Chess Kombat mode. Yes...there is a Chess Kombat mode. And you guessed it...youplay Chess. This mode is a blend of the classic chess game and Mortal Kombat. You choose your team and play a nice game of chess until you attempt to take a square...and then you fight. The winner of the match takes the square. Next is the Puzzle mode. In this mode, you battle againts your pal or the CPU. It's similar to tetris in way. Blocks will fall two at the time. On occasion you'll get whats called a buster. Match this buster up against blobks of that color and you'll send them to your buddy's screen. Whoever's screen fills up first loses. The main mode of this game is the Konquest mode. In this mode, you play as a young man traveling around learning new techniques, going to fighting school, helping out civilians and collecting cool prizes for other modes. This game also features online play and practice modes for MK beginners. Now you dont start out with bundles fo charaters, you earn them. As you progress in the Konquest mode, you find treasures and get credits that help to buy characters. But you do start out with characters like Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Ermac. The controls are a little tricky at first, as there are lots of combos and moves for each character. But as far as the gameplay, I was very pleased.
Now the Audio. Decpetions features a new Konquest mode that wouldnt be to fun without Voices, so they hired to voice actors. But may i say...they arent too good. But what the hay...at least they have voices. The backrounds have cool sounds like when the walls drop to the ground and make a "BANG". During the fights, the characters have cool voices, like Scorpion saying "Get Over Here" when he uses his Death Spear. The game has music that fits the mood very well. Thats about all i can cover for the audio.
Moving on to the Graphics. The graphics are well done. The best I've seen from MK. The character models are superb. The movements are fluent. The Ninja's costumes are altered from recent MK games. Each costume matches the character's personallity. The backrounds are very well done. The 3-D environments feature traps of all sorts like Spike pits, falling walls, lava pits, and really high leadges. Fall into on of these traps and your done for. And not to leave out...THE BLOOD AND GORE. There is so much blood in this game it's crazy. Welcome to the bloody world of MK gamers. Bloods pours from your opponents as you pound away on thier skull and blood splatters all over the ground as your opponents is smashed into the ground by a falling wall...It's really sweet. I was very pleased with the visuals.
Good + This game features cool new modes like puzzle mode and Konquest mode, Outstandind visuals, and Lots of bloodand cool finishers.
Bad - Wish it had more characters, the voices arent to good, and way confusing combos.
Overall, I really enjoyed this game, I give it a 9...out of 10.
